Vulcan Lane, Paris

The High Street district is well known for its narrow streets and laneways, which conceal an array of eclectic, one-off boutique stores. Situated at the top of Vulcan Lane, AGATHA Paris, selling luxurious fashion jewellery direct from Paris, is certainly one of these finds.

AGATHA Paris has over 300 boutiques worldwide, and this unique style of fashion jewellery is loved by women everywhere. In November 2009 Vulcan Lane store owners, Mitchell and Kun Grant, decided it was time to introduce the first AGATHA Paris outlet into Australasia.

When looking for the best location for AGATHA Paris’ first New Zealand boutique, Mitchell and Kun loved the top of Vulcan Lane for its narrow laneways and Parisian feel, with bustling Cafés (Melba has fantastic coffee!) and a great mix of neighbours. Surrounded by Zambesi, Workshop, World and Karen Walker, AGATHA Paris fits right in to the top of Vulcan Lane.

AGATHA Paris is housed in the historic Norfolk House building, originally named the Safe Deposit Building, built in 1912. Back then it was promoted as having “electricity throughout and electric lifts”, a far cry from the modern day setting for AGATHA Paris, but adds to the character of the AGATHA brand in New Zealand, which itself was started 36 years ago in Paris.

With each piece designed and many handmade in France, AGATHA Paris is an iconic French jewellery brand that fuses the fashionable with the affordable. The label leads fashion jewellery in New Zealand with six new collections inspired from the runways in Paris launched every year right here in the heart of Auckland’s fashion district.
